|Rescue Me ID: 18-05-20-00272Lucy2 (female)|
'Totally terrified' was both the comment and observation of numerous staff and volunteer who sought to console and reassure this smallish girl. Lucy was passed around among family members with no one willing to keep and provide the security Lucy so desperately needed. So scared of the kennel environment that when taken outside to potty and stretch her legs, that she had to be carried back. With the long nose of a collie, the coloring of a German Shepherd and the smallish build of an elongated terrier, her breed mixture is a mystery. She is greatly relieved to have companionship and will offer a paw of friendship to those who will sit with her or take her away from the kennels so she can exhale from the stress. Lucy2 (we have 3 Lucys who recognize their name) is 5 years old. She is spayed and fully vetted. She arrived May 12, 2018. Her adoption fee is $100. Questions about Lucy2 can be answered by calling the office at 706-865-4135. The approval process can take from 1 to 3 days and is initiated with submission of an application at the shelter or online at our website: https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/page/dog-adoption-application . Upon receipt of application, our adoptions coordinator will contact the applicant to answer all questions and discuss needs/requirements specific to the desired dog. Adoption policy and application procedures are detailed at the website under tab All Adoptable Animals. Each shelter resident is placed with same due diligence that they would be given if they were our own family members. Adopters who are not within the local area of the shelter MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. Meeting the approved adopters is one of the final steps in the adoption process. We do not permit transport or shipping of our residents without the adopter in attendance. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter which provides quality care, spay/neuter-all vaccines, deworming, vet exam, standard disease testing and for dogs-monthly heart worm prevention treatment. Resident animals are owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The shelter is not permitted by GA law to accept strays. The facility is usually operating at capacity with a list of animals approved for intake waiting for space to open. Adoption hours are Tues-Sat 10-4 and Sun 1-4. Closed Mondays Location: 4823 Helen Hwy. 75N, Sautee, GA 30571, Phone: 706-865-4135 Email: email@example.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/smithgallhumanesociety/ Charles Smithgall Humane Society is located in the mountains of NE GA, 3 miles south of the alpine town of Helen.
