    Please help us find a loving home for Mila. She is an 11month old puppy who was found wondering my neighborhood during winter. We could never find her owners so took her to the vet to get ready for adoption and found out she was pregnant.. We kept Mila to make sure her and the babies had a safe and healthy delivery. Now that the pupies have been homed we are hoping to find Mila a loving family as well. Please contact for more information about Mila or if your like to meet her.

    Shetland Sheepdogs can make good pets in Louisiana if they match your IifestyIe. The Shetland Sheepdog is a small bushy dog resembling a miniature Collie. Shelties are curious, intelligent, and eager to please. Shetland Sheepdogs are very pleasant companions. Shelties are excellent with family children but are wary of child or adult strangers. Shelties need to be with their people. The Sheltie will chase cars if not kept on a leash. Shetland Sheepdogs can live in an apartment with plenty of exercise.

    Shelties are descended from Collies crossed with a now extinct small breed called the Icelandic Yakkin. Shetland Sheepdogs are very rare in Shetland. The first AKC registered Sheltie was Lord Scott in 1911.
